On Thanksgiving weekend, we traveled to Oklahoma. We had been so excited for that trip. For after Thanksgiving was Ammon's eighth birthday, and the day after that was his baptism!
Notice the adorable turkey pins in several of the following pictures:
Here, the boys are getting all Oklahoma wild:
During dinner prep, Roger entertained us with a game of Mad Gab:
The kids (and some of the adults) colored some placemats! Super fun:
Dinner time!
After dinner, we each took a turn with the turkey hat to share one thing we are grateful for:
Later that night, Dani, Spencer, Matt and myself indulged in a game of Ticket to Ride:
On Friday morning, Ammon had his birthday party. A Book of Mormon theme of Lehi and his family in the wilderness. Everyone got to wear a headband:
They assembled a tent in the wilderness:
I don't know what the situation with static was in Lehi's time:
They "woke up" to find "Liahonas."
And using them, found a treasure:
They then went on a hunt for game:
Zeke found part of a jaw in the yard:
They then built a boat:
Later that day we all got to go bowling on the military base:
Yes, I took a "selfie", as the kids call it these days.
On Saturday was Ammon's baptism. Here is the handsome boy himself:
Dani's Sister-in-Law, Shauna, is a woman of many talents. She is a great photographer, and a baker! Here is what she made for the baptism treat:
On the way home from the baptism, we documented some road kill. Yes, an armadillo.
Saturday night, we had a bonfire:
Look at these cuties:
Matt and Ammon are trying to assemble one of Ammon's birthday presents:
On the way home to Omaha, we found a park to stretch our legs, and it had a teeter-totter! The boys were thrilled:
